This is the official website of the SuperChooz Pathfinder project, whose goal is the feasibility exploitation of the SuperChooz project aiming for a neutrino fundamental physics project. This preparation project is led by the CNRS and EDF teams with the support of an international scientific proto-collaboration.
The SuperChooz Pathfinder programme implies the dedicated feasibility studies for SuperChooz, which are focused on 3 main technical fronts:
- SuperChooz physics programme: complete and quantitative definition
- SuperChooz laboratory: all needed facilities at the Chooz-A and Chooz-B sites
- SuperChooz detectors: demonstration of LiquidO performance, including scaling
Much of the latter operation is being led and covered de facto by the LiquidO consortium, while the UND specific articulation and technology will be experimentally directly addressed by the AntiMatter OTech project (approved and funded) along with the CLOUD experiment. The SuperChooz physics programme design is ongoing, since 2018, as described in our history. Instead, the definition of the SuperChooz laboratories will likely be the most important task ahead, involving a major collaboration between EDF and CNRS teams.
The CNRS-EDF team leading the SuperChooz Pathfinder project are (alphabetically ordered):
- C. Bourgeois (IJCLab / Université Paris-Saclay) – CNRS Technical Coordinator
- A. Cabrera (IJCLab / Université Paris-Saclay) – PI / Scientific Responsible / CNRS Contact Person
- J.-F. Le Du (IJCLab / Université Paris-Saclay) – Direction LNCA (since 2022) / CNRS Site Coordinator
- P. Vieu (EDF) – PI / EDF Contact Person
- F. Yermia (Subatech / Nantes Université) – PI
Further details will be detailed here soon.
